Since 1974, the Volunteer Tutors Organisation (VTO) has been training and supporting volunteer tutors to provide one-to-one educational support to children and young people aged 6 to 16. The service is designed for children who need help with schoolwork but whose families cannot afford private tutoring. VTO offers tuition in the child's home, online, or at after-school Learning Hubs, focusing on basic literacy, numeracy, and building overall confidence.
