GCSE Business marking, every script graded and annotated.
DeepMark is AI marking for GCSE Business, held to the exam board's own standard. Every script, from the Section A grid to the 12 mark evaluations, comes back graded by AO and annotated on the page.

Three assessment objectives, marked as three decisions
A Business paper rewards knowledge, application and evaluation, and DeepMark marks each on its own terms.
| Objective | What it assesses | How DeepMark marks it |
|---|---|---|
| AO1 | Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of business concepts and issues. | The multiple choice and short-answer questions. Marked as discrete met or not met decisions on whether the concept is recalled. |
| AO2 | Apply knowledge and understanding of business concepts to the business in the question. | Marked on whether the answer uses the case study in front of it, not the concept in the abstract. |
| AO3 | Analyse and evaluate business information and issues to make judgements and draw conclusions. | The 9 and 12 mark questions. Marked to level on whether the answer reaches a supported judgement, not a two-sided list. |
One paper, three kinds of question
Multiple choice, short answers and extended evaluation each go to the method built for them.
Multiple choice, settled instantly
The Section A grid is marked by exact comparison the moment the scan is read.
A decision per mark point
Every mark point on the 2 and 4 mark questions gets its own met or not met call, with the reasoning shown.
Graded to level
Extended responses are marked to a level against each descriptor, with a quote as the evidence for every judgement.
Your mark scheme, or ours
Upload the board's mark scheme and DeepMark marks against it line for line; with none to hand, it builds one so the paper is still markable.
Questions teachers ask
- Which Business specifications does DeepMark mark?
- AQA (8132), Edexcel (1BS0) and OCR (J204). Upload the board's own mark scheme and it marks against that; with only the paper, it builds a scheme so the script is still markable.
- How does it mark the 9 and 12 mark extended responses?
- By levels of response. Each descriptor is checked with a quote from the student's answer as evidence, and AO1, AO2 and AO3 are scored separately, so two runs of the same script land within a mark of each other.
- Does every script get feedback a student can act on?
- Yes. Every script comes back annotated on the page, with ticks, underlines and margin notes tied to the exact words, plus a What Went Well and Even Better If drawn from the marking decisions.
- Do I have to use DeepMark's mark scheme?
- No. A real mark scheme from the board gives the best marking, so uploading yours is the recommended path; generating one is the fallback when you only have the question paper.
- Is my students' work kept private?
- Scripts are processed to produce marks and feedback and are not used to train anything. The data safety and privacy pages set out who processes what.
