Level of response, built from evidence rather than an impression
DeepMark never reads an essay and picks a level in one go. It checks each descriptor with a quote as evidence, scores AO1, AO2 and AO3 separately, and derives the level from those decisions, so the same essay marked twice lands on the same level.

- How does DeepMark mark AO3 context in English Literature?
- Context is scored as its own strand, not blended into the analysis marks. An essay with sharp method analysis but thin context is capped exactly where the mark scheme caps it.
- Which set texts and questions can it mark?
- The Shakespeare and nineteenth century novel on Paper 1, and the modern text, poetry anthology comparison and unseen poetry on Paper 2. That covers Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, Jekyll and Hyde and An Inspector Calls, plus the Power and Conflict and Love and Relationships anthologies.
- Does it handle poetry comparison and unseen poetry?
- Yes. Comparison is judged on its own, so analysing two poems well without comparing them is held below the comparison band. Unseen poetry is the one place context is not assessed, and it is marked without an AO3 penalty.
- Can it mark against my exam board's own scheme?
